
Travis Bellatino, an avid skateboarder, wakes up early to ensure that the West Valley City skatepark remains a haven for young skaters. His mission is simple: keep the skatepark clean and safe, a labor of love that has stemmed from a deep desire to preserve the place he cherishes. Travis's dedication doesn't stop at park cleanup. He took it upon himself to attend city council meetings to advocate for the installation of lights at the skatepark, believing that extended hours of operation would keep the youth engaged and away from potential trouble.
"If the kids are engaged, they are going to stay out of trouble," Travis said.
